Day 01: KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - ARUSHA

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, upon arrival you will be met by our driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel for overnight stay at Mount Meru Game Lodge. (Meal Plan: Bed and breakfast)

 

Day 02: ARUSHA – MARANGU GATE                                                                                               

After breakfast, you will be met by your mountain guide for the briefing about the Kilimanjaro Trek there after you will drive to Marangu Gate. Climb through the rain forest to Mandara Hut (2,700m) about 3 hours.  Overnight stay at MANDARA HUT

Day 03: HOROMBO HUT                                                                                                                        

Leave the forest and cross open moorland to Horombo Hut (3,720m).Overnight stay at HOROMBO HUT

Day 04: KIBO HUT                                                                                                                        

Climbing through moorland forest then alpine desert you will reach “The Saddle” between the twin peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo.  Before Kibo, you will come to “Jiwe la Ukoyo”. From here you will walk for about an hour to reach Kibo Hut (4,703m). Overnight stay at KIBO HUT (Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch/picnic lunch and dinner)

Day 05: HOROMBO HUT                                                                                                                                                     Very early start for the summit on steep and heavy screed up to Gilman’s Point (5,686m) which is on the crater rim.  Continue around the rim (which will take about two hours if you are fit) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) the highest place in all Africa.  Descend to Kibo Hut for tea and biscuits or soup and then down to Horombo Hut. Overnight stay at HOROMBO HUT

Day 06: MARANGU GATE - ARUSHA                                                                                                                                       

Descend to Marangu Gate.  Drive to Arusha, drop off at your hotel for hot showers, dinner and  warm bed. Dinner and overnight at Impala / Naura Spring Hotel

Day 07: ARUSHA

After breakfast, afternoon at leisure, later transfer to the Airport for your onward flight back home.
